Vice President Alan Browning keeps his party’s election promise. Reversing Roe v. Wade is just the beginning. In America, abortion is no longer legal under any circumstance, even rape.
Rape victim, Hope Archer must give up her hard-earned scholarship and carry the rapist’s baby to term. After she and the baby die during childbirth, her mother vows revenge on the conservative vice president.
Brilliant scientist, Margaret Archer, finds the ultimate revenge for Alan Browning. Just as he is preparing to make his bid for the presidency, she finds a way to reverse the roles.
It is difficult for me to know what I would do. I know what I THINK I would do as the taking of an unborn life is abhorent to me. Who defends the child? It is not the child's fault it is in this situation. I had a niece that was shot and killed shortly after her eighteenth birthday. Even with that, I could not bring myself to wish the death penalty on the killer.
ReplyDeleteMs. Holt has given us quite a bit to think about with this work.
Excellent story.
What do I think Browning will do? I think his only choice is to carry the pregnancy -- doing anything else would be absolute death to his political career. But maybe he could say he miscarried?
ReplyDeleteLove the story and the discussion it elicits. I myself am pro-choice and appeciate the points Holt makes about legislating women's bodies and the horrors that can create. Since long before medical science women knew how to end unwanted and dangerous pregnancies with herbal remedies. There has ALWAYS been abortion, there will always be abortion -- the fight is in keeping it safe and legal.
